About Talisman

Talisman was established on 1 January 1998 to trade as a member of Lloyd’s, offering shareholders a way to participate at Lloyd’s with limited liability, while retaining many of the advantages of personal membership but with reduced complexity.

Shareholders can participate either through an “A” share purchased in cash or a “Unit”, which combines a “B” share with unpaid loan stock supported by a suitable collateral, usually a portfolio of quality shares. This structure allows for the “double use of assets”, enabling investors to benefit both from the income and gains of the collateral and from Talisman’s trading profits.

The majority of trading profits for each year of account are distributed as dividends.

Strategy

Talisman participates in the long‑established Lloyd’s market, allocating capital across a selection of 16 syndicates to share in their underwriting results.

Each syndicate has its own risk profile and business focus and Talisman spreads its investment to maintain a balanced, diversified portfolio. The aim is to generate returns that outperform the Lloyd’s market average while managing overall risk responsibly.
